Michaela Hinks

Program Director

As Director of the 2017 Summer Leadership Academy, Michaela is thrilled to curate the week-long camp she wish she could have experienced in high school. Through her work at Miss CEO, Michaela hopes to empower young women to pursue their highest aspirations.

Michaela will graduate with a B.S. in Bioengineering from Stanford University in June of 2017, and will take a brief hiatus from school to work at X (formerly known as Google X) before returning to Stanford for her PhD. During her undergraduate years, she spent a great deal of time bouncing between doing research in the laboratory and playing saxophone for various groups on campus. She also worked for three years at the Stanford Women’s Community Center, where she designed and executed the first Stanford Women in STEM Symposium as well as other programs to support women students at Stanford.

Michaela grew up in Apex, a small town in North Carolina. In her free time, she loves to go on long walks, watch nature documentaries, and read about science and feminism.
